Job Description
Job Summary/Basic FunctionSupport staff member who advises students and coordinates admissions processes for the Associate Degree in Nursing Department.
Collaborate with the Department Chair and Program Director(s) to create and maintain a non-discriminatory and consistent admission process for the ADN and PN-RN programs.
Review applications and implement the admission policies and processes for awarding applicant points under the direction of the Department Chair.
Facilitate the organization and preparation of student application materials for departmental admissions committee review.
Conduct all transfer course work advisement for ADN applicants.
Conduct application reviews with applicants not admitted to the program. Refers applicants to the program director for any admission concerns.
Advise PN-RN applicants on preadmission requirements for the PN-RN program.
Provides academic advising for current students as assigned by the Department Chair.
Serve as a resource for department faculty and staff on the advising process.
Coordinate ADN admission processes, criteria, and standards with college and university advising and admissions entities.
Exhibit professional and supportive communication with students, staff, and faculty.
Participates in ADN department and/or School of Nursing recruitment/marketing activities as needed.
Maintain proficiency and compliance with university and department policies.
Collaborate with the departmental and college marketing teams for the development and accuracy of marketing and promotional materials as applicable.
Serve on the department admissions committee and other committees as needed.
Represents the School of Nursing and attends meetings relating to student admissions and counseling called by the college or university.
Collaborate with the Department Chair in the completion of annual ACEN, AACN, Board of Nursing, DCHP, and other related program survey documents and reports.
Collaborate with the Department Chair regarding university academic advisement and student affairs communication pertaining to the ADN program.
Represent the program in a professional manner in the college, university, and community.
Participate in professional development activities as related to advising and admissions.
Other duties and activities as assigned by the Department Chair.
Required Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree
One year of full-time college employment preferably in enrollment services (academic advising, registration, admissions, or financial aid), student services or the equivalent
Experience with various technologies, including Microsoft Office, Google G-Suite, and other university systems
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred:
Proficient in record keeping, information management, and complying with university and department policies.
Possesses excellent communication, organization, leadership skills, and aptitude in resolving conflicts and issues.
